The software

BitBrief is open-source software that converts meeting recordings into transcripts and structured notes, optionally publishing them to a Notion workspace you connect. The source code (GitHub) is governed by the project’s open-source license; these terms additionally cover the prebuilt apps and the convenience services the maintainers operate (the Notion connect service and the update server).

Recording responsibly

You are responsible for complying with applicable recording-consent laws and any workplace policies when recording meetings — including informing and, where required, obtaining consent from participants.

Your content

Recordings, transcripts, and notes are yours. BitBrief processes them only to provide the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Connected services

Notion and any hosted model provider you configure are third-party services with their own terms and privacy policies. You can disconnect them in BitBrief settings at any time.

Accuracy

Transcripts, speaker labels, and generated notes are produced by automated models and may contain errors. Review them before relying on or sharing them.

No warranty

BitBrief — the software, apps, and maintainer-operated services — is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, consistent with its open-source license. The maintainers may change or discontinue the convenience services at any time; self-hosting remains available regardless.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the maintainers and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of BitBrief.

Changes

These terms may change as the project evolves; the current version is always at this URL, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
